Joe Calzaghe TKO Peter Manfredo... World super middleweight champion rocked Peter Manfredo in the third round and won by a technical knockout, although by American standards, it was a premature stoppage. Manfredo never went down, and even Calzaghe admitted afterwards the referee may have been a bit hasty, but Calzaghe insisted it was only a matter of time before he would have legitimately knocked out his Amrerican opponent. The bout was contested before more than 30,000 of Calzaghe's fans in Cardiff, Wales. Next up for Calzaghe should be Mikkel Kessler in the only super middleweight fight that matters, but with few exceptions, Calzaghe and his promoter have elected to take safe fights throughout his long title reign. source: hbo
