Calderon dominates Reyes for 8th defense

Iván "Iron Boy" Calderón, defended the WBO 105-pound title, prevailing by unanimous decision against ex-world titlist Daniel Reyes in the champion's home of Puerto Rico. Two of the judges scored the fight 120-109, and third 119-109.  Calderón, 30 years old, made his eighth title defense and improved his record to 24-0 with 5 KOs. Reyes, whose best days appear to be behind him, now has a career mark of 35-4-1. Calderon is not a hard puncher but with about 24 seconds left in the last round, Calderón connected with a hard blow that sent Reyes back against the ropes.   Calderon also had a strong eleventh, landing a right to the stomach and a combination of blows to the body and the face of Reyes, who was cut from an accidental headbutt in the seventh assault.  Calderon will fight again in February. source: El Nuevo Dia
