Cablevision disses boxing fans

Cablevision, the New York based cable television provider, is going out of its way to screw New York boxing fans.  The company is refusing to broadcast tonight's pay-per-view show, which will feature Antonio Margarito vs. Kermit Cintron, Shane Mosley vs. David Estrada and Jameel McCline vs. Calvin Brock.  This isn't the only way Cablevision has hurt sports fans. The company also refuses to show the New York Mets' baseball games to over 2 million fans despite a contract to do so thant runs throught the end of 2005. If you are one of the unfortunate souls currently at Cablevision's mercy, Boxingtalk has two suggestions: 1) go to ESPN.com where you can purchase and watch tonight's boxing over the Internet; and 2) wherever possible, vote with your pocketbook by switching to a satellite or cable provider that does not rely on the arrogant jerks at Cablevision for programming (this author already has).--Scott Shaffer
