Caballero defeats Ortega

Celestino Caballero defeated 40-year old Yobert Ortega by scores of 119-109, 117-111 and 116-112 in Panama yesterday.  While the over-exuberant Panamanian press was quick to anoint Caballero as the 24th world champion in his country's history, Caballero in actuality captured the WBA interim title at 122 pounds, with Mayhar Monshipour continuing to be listed as the WBA's world title holder. Caballero, 23-2, is rated #5 by Boxingtalk at junior featherweight.
