Caballero and Castillo make weight

Solo Boxeo to feature world title fight tomorrow

Press Release: Both WBAsuper bantamweight champion Celestino Caballero of Panama and challenger Ricardo Castillo of Mexico made weight on Thursday, the day before their nationally televised title fight at the Seminole Hard Rock Resort & Casino in Hollywood, Fla. Caballero weighed 121 pounds while Castillo came in at 122 pounds. “Ricardo Castillo is a tough opponent,” said the 5-11 1/2-inch Caballero, whose nickname is “The Towering Inferno” because of his height and power.  “But I’m going to continue to be the champion,” said Caballero, who has a record of 25-2 with 17 KOs and his making his first defense of the title. Caballero took out Somsak Sithchatchawal by technical knockout in the third round on October 4, 2006, in Sithchatchawal’s native country of Thailand. “After I win I want to unify (titles) at 122 pounds.” Castillo has a record of 32-3 with 22 KOs. The card Friday, which will be televised on Telefutura’s “Solo Boxeo,” is co-promoted by Sycuan Ringside Promotions and Seminole Warriors Boxing Promotions.
