From the beginning, the 108 pounders showed they were ready to wage war. Cañizales (27-2-1) tried to land power shots while García (12-3-1) counterpunched and took advantage of spacing. Cañizales took the early rounds going forward, while García used intelligence and accuracy. Starting in the fourth, the fight was keenly balanced.
