CAUTHEN VS. ALVAREZ: CROSSROADS BATTLE

Press Release: On November 7th Terrance "Heat" Cauthen (33-4, 9 KOs) and Shamone "The Truth" Alvarez (19-1, 11 KOs) will go to battle in a ten-round welterweight contest at the Bally's Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, NJ. The card will be promoted by Joe DeGuardia's Star Boxing and broadcast live on GoFightLive.tv. The Cauthen vs. Alvarez fight will be the co-feature, pitting two New Jersey natives against one another in a true crossroads battle of welterweights. In Cauthen's last fight, he outpointed Alexis Camacho (16-1, 15 KOs). Cauthen, who has spent most of his career fighting at light middleweight, dropped down to welterweight for the Camacho fight, and seemed to be much more comfortable fighting at 147. He displayed quick hands and good boxing ability, repeatedly beating the hard charging Camacho to the punch. It was a good victory for Cauthen, who was previously coming off a loss to Sechew Powell.

While Cauthen is coming off a win, in Alvarez's last fight he was not so fortunate as he was defeated by now IBF welterweight Champion Joshua Clottey in a title eliminator. It was the first time Alvarez was defeated as a professional. A win over Cauthen would surely propel Alvarez back into the position he was before his set back against Clottey.
