CASTILLO AVENGES LOSS WITH KO!

By Wyatt Johnston

Jose Luis Castillo, who earlier in the year lost to Diego Corrales in one of the best fights of all time, got his revenge by knocking out Corrales in the fourth round of their rematch in Las Vegas on Saturday.  Castillo scored a devastating knockout in fight that was action packed for the four rounds that it lasted.  The two warriors started out pretty much the way the first fight did with both landing hard shots.  In the third round, Castillo rocked Corrales back, sending him to the ropes.  In the fourth round, Castillo landed a perfect left hook to put Corrales down for the ten count.  Both fighters said they were willing to have a third fight when asked immediately after the fight. However, there is a question about whether Castillo will be able to make 135 again in light of his inability to do so for this fight.   Castillo improves his record to 53-7-1 with 47 KOs and  gets credit for a welterweight non-title win. He doesn't own any world title belts because of his failure to make weight. Corrales keeps both the WBC and WBO lightweight belts despite the loss and his record drops to 40-3 with 33 kos.Â
