Brunson looking to extend KO streak

Press Release: Undefeated middleweight Tyrone Brunson (18-0, 18 KOs) will return to the ring in a Settles Entertainment promoted boxing card in Carter Lake, Iowa (near Omaha, Nebraska) on Saturday, October 13, 2007. The Philadelphia based gunslinger broke the 102 year old American record of consecutive first round knockouts by destroying David Johnson this past March for his 15th straight first round finish. Three months later in New Zealand, Brunson tied the standard for consecutive first round knockouts set by current WBA super featherweight champion Edwin Valero, by annihilating Jamie Waru in Auckland, New Zealand for his 18th straight first-round KO. Now Brunson returns against an opponent to be named later at Carter Lake's Chez Paree Club. "We're proud to have Tyrone Brunson going for the world record on our promotion. He's such a great puncher and fierce competitor with so much potential, " said promoter Craig Settles. Joining Brunson on the bill will be ex-IBF cruiserweight champion "King" Arthur Williams.
