Brook stops Khan in battle of British heroes

Kell Brook TKO6 Amir Khan... Kell Brook (pictured) battered Amir Khan for a sixth-round stoppage in London. After five increasingly one-sided rounds, Brook came out in the sixth and two right uppercuts followed by a left hook that convinced the referee to stop the welterweight bout. Brook, a former IBF welterweight champion is now 40-3 and has at least two huge British fights to choose from next, namely middleweight Chris Eubank Jr. or welterweight Conor Benn.  Afterwards, Khan congratulated the winner and all but announced his retirement, saying afterwards,  "Kell was the best man tonight. The love of the sport is not there anymore." If this is indeed the end for Khan, he should be proud of his career: an Olympic silver medal in 2004 and a world championship at junior welterweight. His career record is 34-6 with big wins over Paul Malignaggi, Zab Judah, Marcos Maidana, Luis Collazo, Devon Alexander, Chris Algieri and Julio Diaz.

On the undercard, British Olympian Frazer Clarke's quick and heavy hands earned him a first-round victory in his pro debut against late substitute Jake Darnell.
