Calvin Brock W10 Jameel McCline... Just a few months after working as Jameel McCline's sparring partner, heavyweight Calvin Brock defeated his former employer to become a legitimate heavyweight contender.  Brock, undefeated and rated #20 by Boxingtalk, was cut over his eye in the first round and knocked down in the seventh, but the Las Vegas judges awarded him a unanimous decision by scores of 96-94, 96-93 and 97-93. The fight was extremely close, as several rounds could have gone either way and some ringsiders thought McCline, Boxingtalk #7, could have won.  Although there was a lot of holding, the seventh round brought the crowd to its feet, as Brock went down from a hard left but got up and won the remainder of the round, perhaps making it only a 10-9 round for McCline.

Shane Mosley W10 David Estrada... Shane Mosley returned to the 147-pound weight class with a victory over David Estrada at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas. Estrada, 18-2, started aggressively, but in the fourth round, Mosley stung him with a hard left hook. The pace slowed as the bout progressed, but the action picked up in the tenth and final rounds. Mosley won by scores of 97-93, 98-91 and 99-91.

Undercard results from Las Vegas... Heavyweight Malik Scott remained undefeated, taking a unanimous eight-round decision from Shane Swartz, 16-3, by three identical scores, 79-72. Scott, from the amatuer clas of 2000, is now 22-0... Bantamweight Raul Martinez opened the pay-per-view telecast with a unanimous decision over Jose Alfredo Tirado. Martinez is 8-0.
