British Commission puts the kibosh on Maccarinelli-Sellers

Kudos to the British Board of Boxing Control, which put its foot down and refused to allow a proposed November 3rd mismatch between WBO cruiserweight champion Enzo Maccarinelli and Ezra Sellers. The BBBC is insisting on a meaningful opponent for a so-called world title fight. Sellers had a nice run, but that was back in the 1990s.  "Sellers has boxed only once in three years," said BBBC general secretary Simon Block. Sellers is not rated in the top thirty by Boxingtalk, while Maccarinelli is this site's #6 cruiserweight. Darnell Wilson (Boxingtalk #10)  has aggressively called out Maccarinelli and stated he is willing to go to Macca's home of Wales to challenge him. Jean-Marc Mormeck is generally recognized as the true world champion of the 200-pound division. source: BBC
