Edited Press Release: Heavyweight Shannon Briggs, now living in Florida, will return home to New York on May 24, 2006 when he faces Chris Koval, 23-2, for a vacant regional title at Manhattan's Hammerstein Ballroom. Briggs will be looking for his 11th consecutive victory by way of knockout.  The Hammerstein Ballroom is the same venue where Briggs was shocked by Sedreck Fields six years ago.  Cedric Kushner's new company, Gotham Boxing and Team Freedom will co-promote the event , which Kushner hopes will mark a regular return to promoting in New York City.
