Brawlroom Boxing on Boxingtalk!

On Tuesday, September 20, 2005; Colorado's top prospects took to the ring on the inaugural "Brawlroom Boxing" card promoted by Tuesday Night Fights, LLC from the Sherman Street Event Complex in Denver, Colorado. The main event featured Adrian "Juanito" Mora (14-0-1, 7) vs. Roberto Valenzuela (33-18-2, 31) in an 8-round affair. Mora, considered a top prospect at jr. welterweight has been begging for fights against other top prospects, to no avail. With a win over former NABF Champion Steve Quinonez (30-7) and a draw wth perennial spoiler Juan Carlos Rubio (31-7), Mora thought only good things would come, instead it has become increasingly difficult to lure fighters into the ring. Perhaps it is his amateur record (62-8), his undefeated professional record, his talent or his height (5'11"), but whatever "it" is, no one at 140lbs has been in much of a hurry to fight Adrian.  The feature bout of the evening saw Hector "Chin Checka" Saez (6-3) vs. Julio Chavez (5-0) in a 6 round affair. Saez had stated coming into this bout that if he was to lose, he would retire, and his mantra has been the same since. A very competitive fight with lots of back and forth action had the Denver fans on their feet by the end of this one.
