Brandon Figueroa to face Chacon in first defense

Brandon Figueroa will fulfill the first defense of his interim championship of the super bantamweight class of the World Boxing Association (WBA) this Saturday against the Argentine native Javier Chacon. The American of Mexican descent will climb into the ring in Bert Ogden Arena, Texas, to exhibit the belt he won in April this year when he defeated Venezuelan native Yonfrez Parejo. Figueroa is a warrior and likes to go to war in the ring. His style is very attractive to fans and people look forward to his first presentation as owner of the black and gold belt. In front of him will be a true veteran in the 38-year-old Argentine, who despite his age seeks to surprise and win the belt. Chacon’s curriculum is broad and has been measured to great world-class fighters such as former champion Jamie McDonnell and Panamanian Anselmo “Chemito” Moreno.

This week the pre-fight activities will be carried out, such as the final press conference and the weigh-in ceremony. Boxers must mark the 122 regulatory weigh limit of the division to have the chance to fight for the title.

Figueroa is undefeated in 19 fights with 14 knockouts, while Chacon arrives at the showdown with a record of 29 wins, 4 losses, 1 draw and 9 knockouts.
Super lightweights Daiyann Butt (4-0-0 2 K0s) and Tyhler Williams (3-0-0 2 K0s) are both looking to continue their win streaks at Parx Casino as they return again to Xcite Fight Night in separate fights.
