Braithwaite to Davis: "Shut Your Mouth And Step Up To The Plate!"

"YEAH RIGHT! Offer me what? NEVER! I never turned down anybody. That is news to my ears. Kelvin Davis can’t beat me, Kelvin Davis is Garbage" that’s how WBC Cruiserweight champion Wayne "The Big Truck" Braithwaite responded when informed that Team Davis came on the record with Boxingtalk.com’s Al "The Monster" Mermimi, stating that he (Braithwaite) turned down IBF Cruiserweight champ Kelvin "Concrete" Davis offer to fill in for the injured WBA champ Jean-Marc Mormeck on October 2nd at Madison Square Garden. You don’t want to miss this one on one exclusive with "The Big Truck" as the normally quiet and laid back holder of the cruiserweight green strap unleashed on all the top names in the division. "I would knock out Kelvin Davis, Ezra Sellers and O’Neal Bell in three rounds. That’s one round each in the same night" Read on because you don’t want to miss what else he had to say.

RC: Wayne how disappointed are you that you will not have a change to unify after WBA Champ Jean-Marc Mormeck pulled out of the October 2nd fight?

WB: I am very disappointed, I am real disappointed. He kept popping a whole bunch of BS and now he gets hurt and punk out like a little bitch.

RC: Do you think that his injury is legitimate?

WB: I don’t think so because they still haven’t sent me any doctor papers or anything. So he must be scared.

RC: Did you request papers to prove that he was injured?

WB: Yes, we asked for them to prove that he is injured by showing us some doctor papers, but they never sent the papers. So we don’t really know if anything happened to him, I think freight happened to him

RC: So who will you be fighting on October 2nd?

WB: I don’t know who I am fighting; I don’t think I am fighting on the card.

RC: Well according to Team Davis, they offered to step in and fight you on October 2nd and you turned it...

WB: (Cutting in) YEAH RIGHT! Offer me what? NEVER! I never turned down anybody. That is news to my ears. Kelvin Davis can’t beat me, Kelvin Davis is Garbage, he can’t beat me.

RC: So you aren’t at all aware that they offered to step in for Mormeck on October 2nd?

WB: As far as I know, they told me the tournament is off with me and Mormeck. I don’t know anything about fighting Kelvin Davis; but I will fight Kelvin Davis anytime. I will fight him anytime; I will fight him right now in my pajamas.

RC: Okay… so are you saying that as of today September 21, 2004 you are still willing to face IBF Cruiserweight champ Kelvin Davis on October 2nd to unify the WBC and IBF belts?

WB: I will fight Kelvin Davis anytime, October 2nd or whenever it really doesn’t matter. Like I said Kelvin Davis is garbage and he can’t beat me.

RC: This week on Boxingtalk.com he said he felt that you were a disgrace to the WBC as one of their champions and he would be more than willing to face you on the 2nd of October, what are your thoughts on that?

WB: He got a gift, which is all he got; he got a gift when he fought Ezra Sellers. If it was me I would have knocked Ezra Sellers in the first round. I would beat the shit out of Kelvin Davis, he aint shit! He is GARBAGE! He cant beat me, he is a (Mike)Tyson wanna be.

RC: So if he is like Tyson, I would imagine you’d like to be his Danny Williams?

WB: I don’t want to be like nobody, I just have to be me. I don’t have to be like Danny Williams, like I said Kelvin Davis is Garbage and won’t even waste my time talking about him. All he has to do it shut his mouth, and step up to the plate if he wants to fight me. I would fight any cruiserweight anytime, I don’t care who. O’Neil "Tinkle" Bell, whoever I would fight any cruiserweight, it doesn’t really matter.

RC: Have you already stopped training?

WB: I stopped for right now because I am just disappointed, but I am still in shape. So if they want to put me on the card to fight Kelvin Davis or whoever I will fight. I am in good shape and by next week I will be n great shape.

RC: In your last fight against Louis Azille you injured your hand, how was it feeling during training for Mormeck?

WB: My hand felt great, for this fight here, I prepared myself. It is the first time I trained so hard in a while. I went to camp, I went through hurricane Frances while the camp roof blew off and I dedicated myself to this fight because I know this was a big fight for me and I know myself, with the shape I was in Mormeck couldn’t beat me for nothing. He would have been knocked out; I would have put my life on that. He would have got knocked out.

RC: You mentioned O’Neil Bell; a couple weeks ago he also did an interview here on Boxingtalk.com with Al "The Monster" Mermimi and said he feel he is the total champion that just haven’t had the opportunity to face a champion, and added that he doesn’t feel that you can last two rounds in the ring with him, what are your thoughts on that?

WB: I don’t want to waste my time talking about him; he was supposed to fight me before. He is a little bitch, I don’t care what he has to say, O’Neil Bell is a little bitch. Like I said before O’Neil Bell and Kelvin Davis is garbage. I will beat all of the cruiserweights in the world; none of them can beat me.

RC: I can imagine you would be disappointed not getting the opportunity to fight for the second time in a row in your hometown…

WB: (Cutting in) Yes I am disappointed, because it was another day for me to shine big in my hometown. If I do fight again on the October 2nd, it would be a much better performance than the last; it would be a beautiful performance. I know that for a fact, I know that by the way I trained for this fight. I know it would have been one of the best fights on the night.

RC: Many were under the impression that you will be facing Panamanian Guillermo Jones 30-2-2(23) after Esto Un Linea a Mexican web site reported that he will be challenging you for your title.

WB: I told them to put someone in there to fight me, it doesn’t matter who it could be anybody. It doesn’t really matter.

RC: Do you have anything to say to any of those Cruiserweight that might want a shot at your green strap on October 2nd?

WB: Whoever comes to fight me on October 2nd,, I feel sorry for them. They are going to feel it for Mormeck and everybody else. All of them like O’Neil Bell and Kelvin Davis can step up if they want to fight. And whoever doesn’t take the fight I will give them ringside seats so they can see what will happen to them if they step in the ring with me. I will invite them specially to be my guest. I want to put them ringside so they can see what is happening.

O’Neil Bell is talking all that shit that I wont last two rounds with him, and he had his chance but when it came time to fight he ran like a little bitch. Then he goes and fights a big old man. Big old Ezra Sellers who can’t fight. Both of them as a matter of fact fought the same old man. I would knock out Kelvin Davis, Ezra Sellers and O’Neal Bell in three rounds. That’s one round each in the same night.
