Braekhus to face German foe

Press Release: Cecilia Braekhus is looking for her sixth win in as many professional fights when she takes on Germany´s Tatjana Dieckmann (1-2) on the Arthur Abraham undercard in Kiel on March 29. “All German boxers are very tough but I am confident of success,“ the First Lady (5-0, 2 KOs) said. "After two exhausting training camps I will be in a shape I have never been in before." The 26-year-old spent the better part of the last two weeks in Kienbaum, the famous former East German training camp base just outside Berlin. “It was a whole new experience for me,“ she stated. “All we did was train, eat and sleep. It was very hard but a lot of fun. The atmosphere has been great.“ Today the team will be travelling to Ruegen, Germany´s largest island just off the coast of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, where coach Ulli Wegner will prepare his boxers for the March 29 show. The coach has been full of praise for his first female fighter who last clinched a fourth-round TKO victory over Wanda Pena Ozuna in Berlin. Even Dieckmann admitted she was impressed by Braekhus´ accomplishments. “I have heard and read a lot about her,” the 39-year-old German said. “She has a great amateur record and has won all of her fights as a pro. I have a lot of respect for her but I want to perform well in front of my home fans.”
