In an emotional video announcement, Chicago super middleweight Mike "Hollywood" Jimenez announced his retirement from boxing. Jimenez, who has not fought since September 2019, said he got injured on the job earlier this year and surgery could not correct the problem (which he did not specify). The 33 year-old Jimenez leaves the sport with a record of 23-2-2 and two regional titles. His two losses were to undefeated boxers. "Boxing has done so, so much for me," Jimenez said. "I got to travel the world and meet so many people, and accomplish amazing things. I have had so much fun.
