Anthony Crolla W10 Frank Urquiaga... Former WBA lightweight champion Anthony Crolla won his farewell fight and formally announced his retirement from the ring. The Manchester Arena, which was Crolla’s home during his career, was the ideal place to say goodbye, and Crolla prevailed over Spain's Frank Urquiaga (13-2-1) via majority decision with the scorecards coming at in 97-93, 98-92 and 95-95. Crolla exits the stage at 25-7-3, ending a career characterized by bravery and charisma. In 2015 he defeated Colombia's Darleys Perez with a body blow to the body to score a great knockout that gave him the WBA lightweight championship. He defended that crown on one occasion against Venezuela's Ismael Barroso, who he also knocked out with a great body shot. In addition, Crolla had two fights against Jorge Linares that are remembered for his losing effort, never giving up and coming to fight hard. Boxingtalk joins the WBA in saluting Crolla and wishing him the best of success in the his future endeavors. source: wba
