Peter-Toney II on Showtime January 6!

The eagerly anticipated rematch between world class heavyweights James Toney and Samuel Peter will take place on Showtime Championship Boxing on January 6. Peter-Toney II is expected to take place in Miami, Florida. IBF junior middleweight champion Cory Spinks will likely make his mandatory defense against Rodney Jones in the televised co-feature.

Hatton-Urango searching for new home!
Following the originally schedule venue not living up to its contractual obligations, Undefeated two division champion Ricky "The Hitman" Hatton's title challenge against IBF junior welterweight title holder Juan Urango is in search of a new home. According to Hatton's promoter Art Pellulo, (Caesars Palace) Las Vegas, the Boardwalk Hall and Foxwoods Resort and Casino are in consideration for the fight. Another casino in Vegas is rumored to be in discussion also.  "I will have the venue solidified before the end of the week," stated Pellulo. Former lightweight king Jose Luis Castillo will take on undefeated Herman Ngoudjo in the televised co-feature.

Birmingham not training Lacy day to day!
Former IBF super middleweight champion Jeff "Left-Hook" Lacy recently decided to leave his Vegas based training camp and return home to Florida to prepare for his December 2 rematch with Vitali Tsypko. Birmingham is currently in Vegas working with Winky Wright, while Lacy is doing his day to day training with his strength and conditioning coach.

Arum lands Janaury 27 Boxing After Dark Date
Bob Arum informs Boxingtalk that Jorge Arce and Kelley Pavlik will be featured in seperate bouts on a January 27 telecast of Boxing After Dark. The exciting doubleheader will take place at the Pond in Anaheim, California. No opponents have been solidified as this goes to print.

Powell returns on December 14
Junior middleweight contender Sechew "The IronHorse" Powell will return to the ring against the ever dangerous TBA as part of DiBella Entertainment's December 14 installment of Broadway Boxing. Powell sufferd his first and only loss to Kassim Ouma on August 5, but plans to returning stronger than ever for his next bout.
