Boxingtalk Exclusive: Bill Haney Responds To Jeff Mayweather

Trainer Jeff Mayweather recently stated that he feared for his life and named Bill Haney, owner of the Hit Factory gym in Las Vegas, Nevada as the primary reason why. These outlandish comments came via blog on BraggingRightsCorner.com. Haney has remained silent and not dignified the comments with a response, until now. You definitely don't want to miss what he's got to say.

GL: What's good Bill?

Bill Haney: "Nothing much Greg. We're just over here grining on Sahara and Paradise at the Hit Factory. And the Hit in Hit Factory is an acronym for Hidden Individual Talent. You don't know how talented you are until you're in a good facility and good coaches, which we have."

GL: Jeff Mayweather recently blogged naming you as the reason why he fears for his life and felt endangered. What's that all about?

BH: "I love Jeff as an individual. I love what his family has done for boxing. Everything he said is asinine. I would never do anything to harm Jeff or anyone for that matter. Boxing is a very aggressive sport and sometimes we say things out of aggression and that's really it."

GL: Why would he make those remarks? What reason does he have to be scared of you?

BH: "I don't know why. He's definitely a guy that I respect as far as his business savvy and what he does in the ring. He would never have any reason to be aftraid of me."

GL: Back to normal questions. What made you decide to want to open a gym?

BH: "I opened the gym because of my son. My son is an 11 year old boxer. He's an amateur with 9 fights. One day his school called me up and wanted me to come in because he got into some trouble with a kid that was older than him. I told him I can't keep coming up there. I asked him if wanted to box. He said yes and the rest is history in the making."

GL: What's the atmosphere like in the gym and who's working out there now?

BH: "We have Eddie Mustafa Muhammad there and he's one of the very best trainers in the boxing. Your readers already know who he trains. We also have Yoel Judah, Zab's father and trainer. We had Jeff, who I brought on board to be a face for the gym that I was hoping would draw high caliber fighters or high caliber coaching."

GL: Closing thoughts?

BH: "Come down to the Hit Factory and for more information on us log on to www.thehitfactoryboxing.com
