I can't understand for the life of me how lil Floyd gets so irritated at Ricky Hatton and wants to come back and fight him but Shane Mosley calls him out and he won't take the fight. I'm sure Miguel Cotto would be willing fight Floyd. The thing is this Floyd has about 4 viable guys out here right now that he should take care of. The winner of Margarito Williams, Mosley,Cotto and Hatton. If he fought 3 out 4 nobody would complain. Its ironic to me that he is gonna make the fight with the least possible threat in Hatton. I like Hatton but he's not as good as Mosley or Cotto and much smaller than Margarito and Williams. Floyd can spin it whichever way he wants but he has a monster in Cotto he could sell out the Garden with and an old tiger in Mosley he can sell out the Staples Center with. Come on now Floyd make easy work of the sparring partner and green lil fighter he refers to.
Leon's Response: That's because Floyd is a businessman and, like Oscar De La Hoya, probably views Hatton as a great opportunity for him to make loads of money with limited risk. I mean did you ever really take Floyd's retirement seriously? I didn't and I've told him so each time we've spoken face to face since he first mentioned it. I don't think any of the names you mentioned beat him, but Mosley probably has the best chance of that bunch. I'd still rather see Mosley-Cotto than Mayweather-Mosley or Cotto. I think it would be a much more entertaining fight in the ring. Floyd will fight again and my guess is he'll continue to fight on and if he does, it's only going to be a matter of time before he winds up facing some, if not all of those names.
Just wanted to get your take on this. First I am the biggest Delahoya fan ever, but I see him showing intrest in the Hattton fight for two reasons. First he sees this fight as a very winnable fight for him and a opportunity to make another enormous payday. Second I think he is trying to defer Hattons attention to him for the big payday and avoid the Mayweather fight so that he can make a fight between Mosley and Mayweather, that being the biggest money fight for both of those fighters. I personally think that Mosely will beat p4p in a decision, and I think Delahoya will stop Hatton in 8. Just wanted to get your take on that. Brandon, Arkansas
Leon's Response: Golden Boy Promotions wants to make a Mayweather-Mosley fight? That's news to me, LOL. De La Hoya would like to fight Hatton because he'd make a lot of money handing the Pride of Manchester his first loss. Here's a little secret, Oscar will make an enormous amount of money regardless of who he fights next.
That Vargas-Mayorga press conference video was hilarious. LMAO @ the dude in the white hat getting pushed off the stage! That was hilarious and so smooth. It was like "exit, stage left." He came back into the picture 8 minutes into the video, and he was none too happy. lol Who is that guy anyway? The photographer dude in the blue cap that tried to step up on the stage for a better shot--only to get pulled down by the guy behind him--was also funny. Was that you that pulled him down, Greg? lol Don King couldn't stop smiling; he even turned the microphone toward Mayorga when Mayorga started ranting. Too funny. As for the fight, in his prime I think Vargas would've had a field day with Mayorga. Now, I think it's kind of a pick 'em, but I still lean toward Vargas since he has better technical skills. The best part about watching Mayorga fight is when he gives dudes free shots at his chin. He gave Trinidad like 3 too many cracks at it. Keep up the great work.
Leon's Response: The footage was entertaining, not hilarious. What cracks me up is how 95% of the times boxing makes Sportscenter it's shown in a negative light where fighters are going at it during a presser. I wonder how long it would be before ESPN wanted to air press conferences live if there was some sort of altercation at most of them. Mayorga hasn't looked good since he fought Michelle Piccirillo so it's tough not to favor Vargas, but it's not as though Fernando was "Fercious" against the smaller Shane Mosley, so that makes it an interesting bout. The extra weight should be of major assistance to Vargas, who was killing himself to make junior middleweight.

G, who cares what Lame Brewster has in store for the future. Tell that Lame he looks amateurish in the ring and to go back to whatever he was doing before he got into boxing. I wouldn't even hire him as a sparring partner. Maybe a punching bag. Klitscho hit him with so many lefts, Lame was begging for a right. Id like to toss my name around the game as a sparring partner for all professionals 175lbs and up. I posess power in both hands and can fight both styles. I chose a career as an entrepreneur instead of a fighter and would like to extend a job to Lame Brewster as a Big Dummy. He can just stand around the office and get in the way so we can kick his ass. - Johnnybadass1969
Leon's Response: Boxing fans should care what Lamon Brewster has in store for the future. Brewster hadn't fought in a while and returned to face Klitschko in Germany. I didn't expect him to win the fight, did you lose some money on him or something? After reading this email I'm sure Lamon would like to spar a few rounds with you. LOL.
Greg- Are we due for a let-down from Wladimir Klitsckho soon, considering his shaky past, or am I correct in believing that he is getting exponentially better with every fight? I honestly don't see him losing...to anyone. Sam Peter is his biggest threat, and since his UD victory two years ago, Klitschko has improved tenfold. A fight with Peter will only be more one-sided in favor of Klitschko I believe. His jab was outstanding against Brewster...and its not like Brewster stood still. He was no twinkle toes, but his head was moving quite a bit, and Klitschko landed his jab like a heat seeking missile. I have never seen a fighter stopped by essentially a jab. Who do you think has the best jabs in the game? I would put Wlad in there with Winky, R. Marquez, Dawson, and Kessler. Am I crazy to think that Klitschko could potentially with another dominant win or two that he should belong in the top 20 p4p?? Its just a shame that sanctioning bodies recognize through politics other "champions" or else right now (though everyone acknowledges he's the best) we would have ONE universally recognized heavyweight champ. Anyways, yes I am a fan of Klitschko...I'm allowed to have some bias. But I don't think my favortism is clouding any judgment: the guy is dominating his opponents impressively. Now, to switch gears. I've been hearing mixed reports on Taylor/Pavlik. Will they fight above 160? Will it be on HBO WCB? And by the way, Bernard Hopkins by UD. ~justin in DC
Leon's Response: Time will tell, but one punch can change everything in boxing, especially the heavyweight division. Things will get interesting if Vitali is able to return to form, but as of now you're 100% correct, Wlad is the man and it's tough to see any of the other Best jabs in the game. Other than Wladimir, Winky Wright, Paul Malignaggi and Rafael Marquez come to mind off the top of my head. Samuel Peter is clearly the biggest threat to Wladimir, but I believe Peter has shown more improvement than Klitschko has since their first fight. Although I've been quite hard on Wladimir in the past, he's clearly is and has been the best heavyweight in the world since he demolished Chris Byrd.
