Boxing Returns To Caesar's Outdoors!

LAS VEGAS, NV (September 2, 2004) -- World Championship Boxing finally returns to the great outdoors of Caesars Palace for the first time since David Reid and Felix Trinidad rumbled, March 3, 2000.  The new outdoor Amphitheatre at Caesars Palace makes its world debut, recalling an era of legendary nights including, Sugar Ray Leonard  vs.  Thomas Hearns; Larry Holmes  vs.  Gerry Cooney; and Muhammad Ali  vs.  Larry Holmes at the famed Las Vegas resort.
 
Gary Shaw Productions, LLC and Caesars Palace, in association with Nemiroff, present a SHOWTIME Championship Boxing triple headliner broadcast, Saturday, October 2, featuring former WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko  vs.  DaVaaryl Williamson;  IBF jr. middleweight champion Verno Phillips defending his world title against mandatory challenger and No. 1 contender Kassim Ouma; and Jeff Lacy, the first member of the 2000 U.S. Olympic team to fight for a world title, in a rumble against No. 1 contender Syd Vanderpool for the vacant IBF super middleweight title.
