Boxing Buzz: Barrera card postponed, Forrest injured Ouma and Jantuah ready to step in

Oscar De La Hoya has informed Boxingtalk.com that Marco Antonio Barrera's bout with Jesus Chavez has been postponed due to an injury Chavez suffered to his left shoulder. Golden Boy Promotions was planning to find a replacement for Chavez, but has opted to postpone the bout until both boxers can compete

------

Lou DiBella has informed Boxingtalk.com that Vernon Forrest suffered an injury to his elbow while sparring with David Estrada. Forrest was supposed to fight on Fox Sports Net on Friday night before meeting Ike Quartey on HBO in April. Ironically, last night two fellow African's Kassim Ouma and DBE promoted  Kofi Jantuah informed Boxingtalk.com that they'd both be more than happy to replace Forrest against Quartey.

------

As expected, Ricky Hatton will make his HBO debut on May 13. Hatton's bout will take place at Foxwoods Resort and Casino in Connecticut. Vivian Harris appears to be the front runner to land the bout now that it appears Carlos Baldomir will defend his WBC title against Arturo Gatti on July 22. Main Events brass have been unable to confirm the information to us, but following Fernando Vargas stoppage loss to Shane Mosley last night, we hear there's a better than average chance Main Events will dub the promotion, "A Gatti victory or we're history!"

------

Oscar De La Hoya and Ricardo Mayorga will begin a national press tour to promote their eagerly anticipated May 6 HBO PPV bout for Mayorga's WBC junior middleweight championship. Stops include, Los Angeles, Texas and New York.

-----

HBO will televise the Mosley-Vargas replay as the undercard to undefeated WBO junior welterweight champion Miguel Cotto's defense against Gianluca Branco on Saturday night.
