Bizarre ending at Ballroom Boxing!

Mike Walters @ ringside

Henry Buchanan... BOUT CANCELED

Ishmael Arvin TKO3 Elias Cruz... At least we think this bout goes in the books as TKO for Ishmael Arvin, but if a TKO loss is hung on Elias Cruz, he got shafted in Glen Burnie, Maryland on Thursday.  Cruz was penalized a point for excessive holding in the third round. His cornerman stepped up to argue the call with the referee and was promptly ejected from ringside. Problem was, Cruz was a Domincan Republic import who only had brought one cornerman with him, so he had no one there to help him when the round ended. After a delay, the bout was ended in favor of Arvin, now 13-0-1.

Larry Marks W8 Ronald Boddie... Once upon a time, Larry Marks got a title shot at 147 and was about two punches away from the WBA title against Six Heads Lewis. On Thursday, he showed up at a shocking 175 pounds, but an out-of-shape Marks was still good enough to beat Ronald Boddie by scores of 79-73, 78-74 and 78-75.

Chazz Witherspoon W4 Marion Wilson... You didn't have to be a member of Mensa (which Witherspoon claims to be) to predict the outcome of this bout. The legendary Marion Wilson, 43 years old, entered the bout with a record of 12-39-4, but has never been knocked out (he was stopped on cuts once). The result? A decision win for Witherspoon, 6-0.

Nick Casal KO1 Martinus Clay... Casal's overhand rights yielded three knockdowns, and the junior welterweight moved to 11-0, all by knockout.

Tim Coleman W4 Diego Villalda... Junior welterweight Tim Coleman improved to 2-0 with a victory over diego Villalda, making his pro debut. The official scores were 40-36 (twice) and 39-37.
