Bivol gets undefeated opponent for June 1st

With three-belt champion Artur Beterbiev on the sideline due to injury, WBA light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol (pictured) has a replacement opponent for the June 1st show in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. While Bivl will not be fighting in a career-defining world championship unification bout as planned, he will be in against a quality opponent eleven days from now. Bivol will defend against undefeated, Libyan-born Malik Zinad at the Kingdom Arena. Zinad is 22-0 and has beaten two straight previously undefeated foes. His last win came very recently, April 24th, a decision win over Jermoe Pampellone in an IBF eliminator held in Australia. Prior to that, Zinad defeated Mickael Diallo. Bivol is listed at 22-0 but pro bouts in the World Series of Boxing make 25-1 a more accurate record.
