Big Time Heavyweight linked to steroid lab

On the eve of fighting for the WBC interim heavyweight title, contender Jameel McCline (38-7 with 23 KOs), has been blindsided by a report linking him to the Signature Pharmacy steroid scandal.  According to Tim Smith and T.J. Quinn of the NY Daily News, McCline received more than $12,000 worth of steroids, human growth hormone and related drugs over a 21-month period. McCline's manager, Scott Hirsch, points out that McCline has been tested for steroids in the past without incident.  McCline allegedly received shipments of steroids in March 2005, through December 2006.  Jameel is scheduled for a title shot against WBC interim heavyweight champion Samuel Peter on October 6, 2007 at Madison Square Garden.  Twenty two people have been indicted and nine convicted for their role in the internet based steroid scandal.  Source: NY Daily News
