Beyer beats Green by majority decision

The first time Markus Beyer faced Danny Green, he was down twice and won by controversial disqualification. Beyer won the rematch in Zwickau, Germany in a bout that surely will have Australian fans demanding a third chance for Green.  Beyer won a majority decision by scores of 114-113, 115-112 and 114-114 to retain the WBC super middleweight title. However, Green landed an uppercut that badly hurt Beyer in the twelfth round.  According to the Associated Press, Beyer was given a standing eight count and managed to survive.  Green was quoted as admitting he "didn't do enough." Beyer and Green are rated #9 and #10 respectively in the Boxingtalk ratings, with Australian fans complaining their man deserved a higher spot. Boxingtalk will evaluate both men's ratings as soon as a tape of the fight is obtained.  source: Associated Press
