Berto speaks on latest stoppage win, future plans and more!

GL: Congrats on your victory. Can you give us some thoughts on your victory over Martinus Clay? "He's a tough kid. He took a lot of abuse and he kept on ticking. I gave what everyone wanted to see, I went some round so that was a plus. I could have done a couple of things better, but I was pleased with the performance."

GL: Boxing fans are rarely pleased. When you're taking them out early we want to see you go some rounds. When you go some rounds we want to see you knock them out early.

Andre Berto: "You're not going to be able to get away from the critics at all. Right now I feel like I'm under a tight microscope. Everything I do is going to be criticized to a point, go in there and do what I do, gain experience and learn from each fight. It won't matter once we get to the bigger fights and start chopping down some of the bigger names."

GL: Coming into this fight you were kind of expecting this guy to go some rounds so I imagine you weren't too surprised when he did.

AB: "I was looking forward to putting some round in so I didn't press as hard as I normally do. I got those rounds in and I'm looking forward to my next move."

GL: Will you be fighting on ESPN on July 27?

AB: "I'm not sure, that date isn't official yet. I'll be finding out soon and when I do I'll definitely let you know."

GL: If not July 27 when can we expect you back in the ring?

AB: "Really soon. If it's not going to be the end of July it will be in August. I'm coming to a network near you."

GL: How do you feel about a fight with David Estrada, a name that has come up several times during discussions with your promoter Lou DiBella?

AB: "I'm on the upward ladder right now and I'm trying to take on any of the contenders that are going to lead me to the championship. Estrada has been in there with a lot of top guys and he's someone I'd like to get on my resume so we'll see how that works out."

GL: Who do you like in Cotto-Judah?

AB: "I think Judah can do his thing but he has to get him out of there early. If it goes past six rounds I like Cotto."

GL: Margarito-Williams?

AB: "Williams should win. I think Williams got him."

GL: Does that prediction have anything to do with the fact that you're both with Al Haymon?

AB: "Nah, it's just that Paul's got the range on him and Margarito is going to come to fight and that's going to work against him."

GL: Is there anything you'd like to say in closing?

AB: "Everyone keep supporting boxing. I got a lot of love out in Memphis, and a lot of people came from England to watch me fight so I thank them for that and thank all of my fans for their support."
