Alejandro Berrio KO9 Syd Vanderpool... Colombian Alejandro Berrio arrived on the international scene Firday night, knocking out super middleweight contender Syd Vanderpool in the ninth round at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood, Florida.  Berrio rocked Vanderpool with an uppercut that may have broken his nose in the fifth round, but Vanderpool appeared to be comfortably ahead after six rounds.  In the seventh, however, Berrio knocked down Vanderpool and the momentum swung decidedly in the underdog's favor. In the ninth round, Berrio knocked Vanderpool out, and the Canadian remained on the canvas for quite a while.  Berrio is now 22-3 while Vanderpool, #16 in the Boxingtalk ratings, drops to 35-4.

Juan Urango KO5 Francisco Campos... Junior welterweight prospect Juan Urango notched a quality win, a fifth-round knockout of Francisco Campos.  The end came at 1:46 of the fifth, courtesy of a left hook to Campos' body. The Colombian Urango is now 14-0-1, with the draw coming against Mike Arnaoutis. Campos has now lost three straight but he went the distance with ex-world titlist Ceasr Bazan and lasted into the tenth against another ex-titlist, Paul Spadafora.

Eliecer Castillo TKO1 Otis Tisdale... The day before his brother faces Wladimir Klitschko, Eliecer Castillo reversed a two-bout losing streak with three knockdowns of Otis Tisdale in the first round. Castillo is 27-5-2, while Tisdale dips to 21-18-1 including eleven losses in his last thirteen outings.
