If Don King can put the fight toghether you will see another historic performance when I knock Tito out again."
GL: To what do I owe the honor of an interview request? "I'm interviewing you Greg and I want to know what you think. First of all it was a star-studded affair and nobody is going to beat Manny Pacquiao fighting the way Ricky Hatton did. He made him look like the Bruce Lee of boxing with an easy night. Easy night. Because of what?
GL: Stupidity and a lack of strategy. "Exactly."
GL: And then I heard they fired trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr. before the fight. I think getting rid of Billy Graham was a huge mistake.
BH: "The word is, that Mayweather Sr. couldn't do what he really wanted to do because he was handcuffed. If you speak to Floyd, who knows what he says, but that's what I heard. Now, who do you think is going to win between Chad Dawson and Tarver?
GL: Chad Dawson.
BH: "I think so too. Let me ask you this, who do they fight next, removing me from the equation?"
GL: At light heavyweight, there's no other serious money besides you.BH: "Yeah, but you gotta take me out of it for a second."
GL: Well, other than you there's Glen Johnson and you know they're not going to fight him again."BH: Let's talk about Paul Williams now, and I know you're going to see where I'm getting at because you're very quick."
GL: He has no idea, but I hope he decides to move up and fight Allan Green next.BH: "You might be able to make that, because I'm not taking it. But let me ask you another question, who represents those guys?
GL: Al Haymon has Williams and Mike Criscio manages Chad Dawson.BH: Who represents them on TV?
GL: "HBO."BH: "OK. And Al Haymon is not involved with Chad Dawson, but he's involved with...
GL: (cutting in) Almost every other fighter who fights on HBO.BH: Does HBO want Hopkins and Dawson or Hopkins-Williams more than anything?
GL: I would say they want Dawson more than anything. BH: "From what I was hearing out there, it was like 50-50. I've been one of the greatest strategists in boxing who sees things ahead of time. A lot of times it takes patience, and some people see it and some people don't. Chad Dawson hasn't done anything in boxing against a big, big name. Tarver was a big name in boxing after Roy Jones Jr. But he wasn't a big name after Bernard Hopkins gave him a one-sided beatdown. He needs that informercial that Kelly Pavlik needed. The powers that be had Jermain Taylor and were hoping to get a highlight film with Bernard Hopkins and the only highlight you see is me stumbling back over my own feet. Fast forward to now and I'm sure you know where I'm going. Now you start to hear rumors about this fight and that fight. Felix Trinidad's name is coming up. As far as I'm concerned, the most money and the most significant fight from a historical point of view, is not Williams or Dawson. For the money they're offering, they're all risk, no reward. My doctor told me no matter how good I look, my insides is old and I can't change that. And this is a doctor who only watches me fight. He doesn't care about boxing and he doesn't even know who the fuck Oscar De La Hoya is. To hear people try to con me and play with my ego. Some people who were calling me old are now kissing my ass. I need to carry tape recorders around these jokers. I don't want to hear nothing about a recession or this or that, and right now Greg, we haven't done an interview in a while and I did call to use the greatest and the best website to get it accurate from the fighters, on BoxingTalk.com. Not any other site, this one. I requested this interview.
"My thing is, I have no problem fighting anybody and I never did."
GL: They just have to come correct with that money if they want to get an informercial off the old man.BH: "Exactly. There's one fight that some people might not take seriously, but for historic reasons and for me not to do what Roy Jones did to me, I would give Felix Trinidad a rematch as long as I feel repsected in that deal. This interview is not to just talk about the young stars in boxing. I already sent one of them back and I don't think anybody will beat him anytime soon. I've been hearing that Trinidad is serious and Don King is serious and he already got a signed contract ready to go.
If he believes that 9/11 made a difference and his loyal fans believe this, people will come. I'm the only person to knock him out and if Tito fought Donald Duck, people would come. Why wouldn't they come for one of the most anticipated rematches of this era? TV might not feel that way because they're looking at their own commerical interest into the future. If Don King can put the fight toghether you will see another historic performance when I knock Tito out again."
