Bernard Hopkins: "I'd fight Trinidad again, but only if they put it in writing that I won't be locked up for homicide when I kill him."

GL: I'm sure you're aware of the current discussions for Roy Jones Jr and Felix Trinidad to face each other on HBO PPV on January 26, 2008. If for whatever reason the Calzaghe fight failed to come to fruition and Felix Trinidad wanted to seek revenge in a rematch that would sell on PPV, would that fight interest you? "I'd  fight Trinidad again, but only if they put it in writing that I won't be locked up for homicide when I kill him."

GL: Would the fight have to take place at 175 or would you come down to 170 again?

Bernard Hopkins: "Greg, he's got no power. I did that for Winky to prove a point. I took that extra five pounds off and people gave me no credit for it, so I'm not giving away anything. I'm the light heavyweight champion of the world and that's not disputable. If the fans on Boxingtalk tell you that it's a fight that they want to see then I would respond to that. You've made fights for me on Boxingtalk. You've started many fights, instigated them, whatever you want to call it, but you did it based on making good fights so A) you can write about it, B) the fans will get what they want to get and C) it makes things good for everybody. My thing is this, if the fans think if this a fight that they want to see, if they want to spend their hard earned money to buy it and Trinidad shows that he's ready to fight me at 175 to redeem himself, of course I'd take the fight. I don't turn nothing down but my collar.

"As long as there's a clause in the contract that indemnifies me in the event of a homicide I'm cool. "

GL: Is there anything you'd like to say in closing?

BH: "Like always if you want to get the truth you're getting it straight from Boxingtalk.com. Sooner or later the fans will see B-Hop back in the ring at 43 doing his thing.
