The eagerly awaited fight between WBC super featherweight champion Miguel “Alacrán” Berchelt and the undefeated former WBO featherweight champion, Oscar Valdez, will take place on February 20th. Both boxers sent in their thirty-day pre-weigh-ins, showing their great commitment and professionalism. Berchelt weighed 142.8 pounds, while Valdez posted 142.6 pounds, both within the WBC limits for the time frame. Berchelt, age 28, with a record of 37-1 with 33 knockouts, has made six defenses of the title that he won against another Mexican, Francisco Vargas, in January 2017. Valdez, 29, 27-0 with 21 knockouts, moved up to the super featherweight division in 2019, after a successful campaign at 126 pounds that saw him make six defenses of his own.
