WBA / WBO cruiserweight champion Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez defends against undefeated two-division champion David “El Monstro” Benavidez on a PBC pay-per-view event on Saturday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. At Friday's weigh-in, Ramirez, himself a two-division champ, weighed in at the division limit of 200 pounds. Benavidez, a reigning champion at light heavyweight who is moving up to cruiserweight for the first time, scaled in at a career-high (by more than 20 pounds) 196.8.
WBA super middleweight champion Armando “Toro” Reséndiz and all-action Jaime Munguía will meet in the co-feature. Resendiz, making his first title defense, scaled in at 167 even. Munguia, a former champion at 154 pounds, weighed in at 167.4 on Friday.
For the undercard, Angel Fierro badly missed the junior welterweight limit of 140 pounds by coming in at 143.4, but said he will still put on an exciting fight. Oscar Duarte, who scaled in at 139.8, promised to make Fierro pay for being overweight.
