PRESS RELEASE: From WBC President Jose Sulaiman: Due to the current legal situation concerning the WBC mandatory super featherweight contender Manny Pacquiao, the WBC has suspended the purse offer that was scheduled for January 12, 2007, for the mandatory title defense of world champion Marco Antonio Barrera. The WBC is currently researching this situation and will continue doing so until the clarification of the facts for the free negotiations, and will keep everybody informed after the holidays.
