Mexican Legend Still has one more fight with GBP
Boxingtalk spoke with Marco Antonio Barrera advisor, Roberto Diaz about his thoughts on rumors of Marco Antonio Barrera no longer being with Golden Boy Promotions, and potentially moving to rival Top Rank to solidify a rematch with Manny Pacquiao. Diaz informed Boxingtalk that Barrera is still contractually obligated to fight under the Golden Boy banner one more time. Diaz made it clear to BT that Marco's contract is not based on time, rather fights. "He is contracted to have one more fight with Golden Boy, and if takes a month, or three months, or a year, that's what it takes."”Diaz continued, "I don't know what this three month rumor is all about because again, his contract is not based on time, it's based on fights. If Marco's next fight takes 6 months to make, then that's what it takes. We will be meeting with Golden Boy on Tuesday to talk about Marco's next fight, and future possibilities."” Diaz concluded by making it clear that a rematch with Barrera conqueror Manny Pacquiao is still the fight the living Mexican Legend desires most.
