One Punch Productions in association with Ker’s Winghouse and LaNueva 92.5 FM kick off the 2006 schedule of the popular “Ballroom Brawl!” professional boxing series on Friday, February 17th at the Tampa Westshore Doubletree Hotel. The evening’s main event will feature an NBA Intercontinental Super Middleweight Title fight featuring Carlos Deleon Jr. (13-1-2, 10 KO’s). Deleon Jr., the son of legendary 4 time cruiserweight champion Carlos Deleon, and managed by undisputed jr. middleweight kingpin Winky Wright, was born in Puerto Rico, and now trains at Dan Birmingham’s St. Pete Boxing Club. DeLeon will be taking on the tough and gritty Alberto Albaladejo, 9-5-2, 7 KO’s. Albaladejo, whose 5 losses have come at the hands of fighters with a combined record of 36-1, is coming off an upset KO win over highly regarded Sarasota prospect Theo Kruger. The co-main event of the evening will showcase heavyweight “Big” Gabe Brown 18-6, 11 KO’s.

Brown, who is managed by Roy Jones Jr., made his first Tampa Bay area appearance last October on the Antonio Tarver vs. Roy Jones Jr. PPV card at the Forum. The undercard features top Bay area talent including Oldsmar featherweight Carlos Manuel Rivera (6-1-1, 2 KO’s), undefeated St. Pete light heavyweight Akinyemi “AK47” Laleye (3-0), St. Pete featherweight Kermit Gonzalez (2-0), Tampa lightweight Marcus “Combo” Broadnax (3-1-1, 2 KO’s), St. Pete light middleweight Jean Baptiste (4-2-2), the professional debut of St. Pete heavyweight Lenroy “Tommy” Thompson, and a special attraction bout featuring Tampa jr. lightweight Jenna “Cowgirl” Shiver (1-0). Doors open at 7:00 PM, and the action starts at 7:30 PM.
