Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) made its premiere at the world-famous Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox, on Saturday in Boston. BKFC featherweight champion “King” Kai Stewart made his record-tying sixth successful title defense by defeating previously unbeaten Harry “The Hitman” Gigliotti via unanimous decision. Two judges scored the fight 48-47 and one scored the contest 49-46. Stewart, who hails from Great Falls, MT, is now 10-0 in his BKFC career — just the second fighter behind Leonardo “El Zambo” Perdomo to win their first 10 BKFC fights. With the victory, he tied Luis “Baboon” Palomino for most successful title defenses in BKFC history. Stewart said in his post-fight interview that he’s open to all challengers, including a rematch with Bryan “El Gallo” Duran, who was sitting ringside: “I want whoever is going to pay me the most. If that means slaughtering the cash cow, then sign me up! But I can’t wait to be a dad first; February can’t come soon enough!” Gigliotti, who represents Haverhill, MA, is now 6-1 in his bare knuckle fighting career.

 

Las Vegas’ Christine “Misfit” Ferea further cemented her status as the greatest female fighter to ever grace the BKFC squared circle by knocking out Sofia “Queen of the Streets” Landi in her first defense of the BKFC Queen of Violence Title. Ferea sent Landi to the canvas twice before their bout was stopped 33 seconds into the second stanza. With the win — Ferea’s 10th straight victory — she upped her record to 12-1, both records for female BKFC fighters. The six-time BKFC women’s flyweight champion took aim at combat sports legend Cris Cyborg in her post-fight interview: “Cris, come out of retirement. I love you; you’re the (expletive) GOAT. I’ve looked up to you my whole career. Let’s do it, real fight, bare knuckle. Let’s go, Cris!” Landi, who represents Buenos Aires, Argentina, was making her BKFC premiere after establishing herself as a star on the King of the Streets circuit.

 

Joe “J-Lau” Lauzon turned heads in his BKFC premiere, sending Stash “The Flash” Kuykendall to the canvas five times. The fight was stopped 49 seconds into the second frame, with the Bridgewater, MA product Lauzon taking home the win by TKO in his first trip to the Squared Circle. The ex-UFC mixed martial artist, Lauzon is open to more BKFC fights under one condition: “If you guys come back to Fenway, I’ll think about it,” he said with a chuckle in his post-fight interview to the approval of the Boston faithful. “We’ll talk, we’ll figure it out!” Kuykendall, who hails from Fort Smith, AR, is now 0-3 in his BKFC career.

 

Unbeaten Abington, MA product Peter “Slippery Pete” Barrett cruised to 3-0 after dropping Elijah “The Buffalo Soldier” Harris nine times to the third-round TKO finish in lightweight action. The stoppage came 55 seconds into the third round. Two of the UFC vet Barrett’s three wins have come by stoppage. Harris, who hails from Greencastle, PA, is now 2-3.

 

 

Missouri featherweight Tray “Big Dogg” Martin smashed his way to 3-0 with a fourth-round knockout at the expense of the previously unbeaten Rico “The Hot Stepper” DiSciullo of Massachusetts. Martin picked himself up off the canvas and rallied for the stoppage at 1:21 of the penultimate round. 

 

Yakima, WA’s Charon “Dreamcatcher” Spain edged out former UFC star Charles “Boston Strong” Rosa for the split-decision victory in their matchup of debuting lightweight fighters. Spain and Rosa each logged a pair of knockdowns in the fight. Two judges scored the contest for Spain (47-45, 47-46) while one scored the fight 48-45 for the Peabody, MA product Rosa.

 

Great Falls, MT’s Dallas “The Dentist” Davison upped his bare knuckle fighting record to 8-4 with a come-from-behind knockout victory over Pat “The Vanilla Gorilla” Casey in middleweight action. Davison picked himself up off the canvas and rallied for the stoppage 59 seconds into the second round. Casey, who represents Springfield, MA, is now 4-3 in the squared circle.

 

Taylor “Killa Bee” Starling earned her third straight win and climbed to 7-4 with a decision victory over Kat Paprocki. Two judges scored the fight 29-28 and one scored it 30-27, all in favor of the Rock Hill, SC strawweight Hart. Paprocki, who hails from Denver is now 2-2 in BKFC. Starling and Paprocki entered the fight as the No. 3 and No. 4 contenders, respectively, in the BKFC strawweight division.

 

‍Guilherme Viana picked himself up off the canvas and rallied for the first-round knockout over Rob “The Wolf” Perez in the ironweight division. The fight was stopped at 1:04 of the opening stanza. The Brazilian-born Waterbury, CT product is now 3-1 in the squared circle, with all of his wins coming by finish. Perez, a product of Worcester, MA, was making his BKFC debut.

 

Boston’s James “The Honeybadger” Murrin made an excellent first impression in his BKFC premiere by knocking out Chris “Ironfist” Rooney in the opening round of their featherweight bout. The knockout came 35 seconds into round 1. Rooney, who represents Richfield, was also making his BKFC debut.

 

Billerica, MA’s Jake “The Gorilla” Pilla turned heads in his BKFC debut, sending Angelo Colon to the canvas five times before their featherweight matchup was stopped at 1:07 in the second round. The Rochester, NY product Colon is now 0-2.

 

Smith Center, KS’s David “Thunder” Simpson only needed 27 seconds to knock out David Burke in light-heavyweight action in the opening bout of Saturday’s BKFC 92 broadcast. Simpson is now 5-5 under the BKFC banner, with all of his victories coming by stoppage. Burke, who hails from Somersworth, NH, is now 1-2 in his BKFC career.
