BKB Bare Knuckle Boxing has announced the complete fight card for BKB 60, which takes place at the Utilita Arena Newcastle, England on Saturday, October 10th.The event will mark BKB’s first ever event in Newcastle, and will feature a BKB junior middleweight championship fight between Rolando Dy and five-time BKB champion Scott “The Mute” McHugh. A second-generation boxing champion, Dy (6-1, 5 KOs) is the son of former WBC junior lightweight champion Rolando Navarrete. Dy is the first Filipino to capture BKB gold, and recently defeated former champion Paulie Malignaggi. The Dy-McHugh world title showdown replaces the previously announced heavyweight main event between hometown favorite Mick Terrill and Kamil Sokolowski.
In the co-feature, two of BKB’s top-ranked super middleweights go head-to-head once more, as Wales’ Keiron Harding (3-0, 3 KOs) takes on Scotland’s David Winiarski (7-1, 7 KOs) in a rematch. Also on the card, former IBF champion Joseph “JoJo” Diaz Jr. (1-0, 1 KO) returns to the Trigon following his successful BKB debut in Los Angeles, while Adel Altamimi (3-0, 3 KOs) looks to continue his streak of knockout victories.
David Tetreault, CEO of BKB Bare Knuckle Boxing, said: “We originally announced Newcastle with Mick Terrill headlining in his hometown, and there is no version of this card we wanted more. Last week, on less than three days’ notice, Mick stepped in against heavyweight champion Gustavo Trujillo while he was already traveling to Miami to promote BKB 60. That is who he is. He came out of that fight with a cut that will not be healed in time for October, so we look forward to welcoming him back as a special guest, helping us host the fans in Newcastle and taking it in the Trigon side. Rolando Dy vs. Scott McHugh is exactly the kind of fight we want at the top of the bill for our first-ever event in Newcastle. Dy has been on an incredible run in BKB, while McHugh is a proven champion who has been in some of the toughest fights in the history of the sport. When you put these two together, you have the makings of a tremendous main event, and we expect both fighters to bring everything they have when they step into the Trigon on October 10. Newcastle is in for a special night.”
Looking to take the title is McHugh (17-5, 7 KOs) a five-time BKB champion and Bare Knuckle Hall of Fame inductee. The Leeds native is currently riding a five fight winning streak, with three of those wins coming by KOs. The 22-fight veteran will look to add another world championship to his already-impressive list of accolades, and he’ll try to do it in front of a home crowd.
