BJ Flores vs. Pat Nwamu in step-up fight in Idaho

Press Release: Pro boxing returns to Boise, Idaho on March 2, 2007.  "Punchin'" Pat Nwamu will face B.J. Flores. Nwamu (12-1, 4 KOs), won a minor super cruiserweight title last August with a third-round TKO of John Battle.  The Bronx, NY fighter's most notable win to date, however, was against previously unbeaten Ehinomen Ehikhamenor in 2005 for the state cruiserweight belt. Flores (18-0-1, 12 KOs) is coming off a 12-round unanimous decision against Chris Thomas last month for a pair of regional belts. In the main event, local hero Cleveland Corder faces John Butler (18-2, 7 KOs) in the twelve-round middleweight main event. Corder (35-3, 20 KOs) has announced this will be his retirement fight. "I want to go out with a bang," Corder said. "This is my last professional fight and I want to take as many memories with me as I can. I have to give something back to all of my fans. They have supported me so much over the years. It seems like I get hassled all of the time about a retirement fight. Sometimes people tell me that I have to fight at least once more so the can watch me fight again. So, I have decided to give it one lat hurrah. This fight is for my fans. "After it's all said and done, my plans are to put my main focus on real estate and promotion. I want to be on the other side of things, for my family and myself. Don't get me wrong; I love boxing. It's my passion. The truth is I just want to focus on other things in my life." The show will be co-promoted by Silverhawk Championship Boxing and Knockout Promotions at Qwest Arena.
