Chad Dawson W12 Tomasz Adamek... In Kissimee, Florida, Chad Dawson became a major player in boxing and earned the WBC light heavyweight championship, dethroning Tomasz Adamek by scores of 116-110, 117-109 and 118-108. Nicknamed "Bad Chad", he may want to change that to "Awesome Dawson" after making the accomplished Adamek look like a crude brawler for nine rounds. Adamek did put a scare into Dawson when he floored him with a hard right in the tenth round. Dawson was hurt but was able to survive. Up to that point, the undefeated Dawson won every round, putting down Adamek in the seventh, although Adamek has a claim that he tripped over the southpaw's foot. While Bernard Hopkins remains the legtimate world champion at 175 pounds, its doubtful he'll want any part of Dawson after this performance. source: showtime championship boxing
