Atlantic City undercard results

Rudy Markussen TKO2 Brock Stoddden... Rudy Markussen, Boxingtalk's #16 super middleweight, defeated Brock Stodden in a two-round mismatch in Atlantic City. Markussen floored Stodden with a body shot in the first round and then hit Stodden, 17-11-1, at will until the fight was stopped at 1:19 of the second round.

Jason Litzau TKO6 Carlo Contreras... Featherweight prospect Jason Litzau stopped Carlos Contreras in six rounds for his seventeenth win in as many pro fights. There were no knockdowns. Litzau easily outboxed Contreras, 20-12-3, but decided to please the crowd by fighting toe-to-toe and perhaps getting hit unnecessarily a few times. Still, Litzau's bolo punches and risk taking were appreciated by the New Jersey audience.

Malik Scott W8 Kendrick Releford... Malik Scott continued his slow but steady rise up the heavyweight ladder, defeating respectable Kendrick Releford, 13-7-1, by unanimous decision over eight rounds. Scott, from the amateur class of 2000, is now 24-0, and Releford was the first test of his career. Scott passed by scores of 79-73 (twice) and 80-72.

BJ Flores W8 Jermell Barnes... BJ Flores, a talented but undersized heavyweight, seems to have settled into the cruiserweight division, where he defeated veteran Jermell Barnes by a wide margin. Flores, 15-0, triumphed by scores of 80-72 (twice) and 78-74.
