Cestus Management's junior welterweight prospect "Mighty" Mike Arnaoutis has sustained an injury in training, and has been forced to withdraw from his bout with Marco Angel Perez, scheduled for this coming Friday's edition of the Showtime Network's ShoBox: The New Generation series.
A pulled muscle in "Mighty" Mike's upper back prompted Cestus Management and Arnaoutis to make the difficult decision to cancel the fight.
"We apologize to our loyal fans for this unfortunate occurrence," commented Advisor Mike Michael. "Every athlete sustains injuries at some point or another, it's something that simply isn't within our power to control. This was not the kind of decision we like to make, but we cannot allow 'Mighty' Mike to get into that ring under these circumstances.
"We'll deal with this situation just like we deal with all of our fights: We'll find a way to win. The rest of the young fighters at 140 pounds have a lot of catching up to do anyway, so this won't be a setback for our team. We'll get Mike back in the ring and back on the air as soon as we possibly can, and we'll come back from this injury and still be ahead of schedule.
"Gary Shaw Productions has been incredibly involved and supportive with our team throughout the last year, and I'm sure that we'll be able to work with them and put together a great fight for 'Mighty' Mike right off the bat. I also want the fans to make sure and tune in to ShoBox this Friday, even though Mike won't be on the card. Gary Shaw Productions doesn't stage bad cards, and the Showtime Network doesn't broadcast bad cards, everyone got yet another example of that two weeks ago with Corrales and Castillo. This Friday will be no exception.
"Once again, I want to assure all of our fans that 'Mighty' Mike will be back in the ring in the very near future. Once this injury heals up, he'll be looking better than ever!"
