Clara Lescurat W10 Maribel Ramirez (... Argentina’s Clara Lescurat (7-0) defeated Mexico’s Maribel Ramirez (13-3) for the WBA super flyweight championship. After ten rounds, the judges rendered a split decision in favor of Lescurat, who became the new champion under the lights of the Casino of Buenos Aires.  The fight was a close one, with Ramirez travelling to Buenos Aires as the champion.  Despite some messy passages in the clinches, the Argentinean boxer managed to sustain her counter-punching strategy, keeping her distance in a manner that allowed her to land punches and escape return fire through her fast movements. But Ramirez’s pressure was incessant and Lescurat knew how to solve it.
