Arce stops Rivas in Cancun

At the WBC gala in Cancun, Mexico, world-class flyweight Jorge Arce stopped Adonis Rivas for the second time in two months, this time doing it quicker when Rivas quit in his corner after the sixth round.  Arce used his advantages in speed and power all night, pounding on Rivas with left and right uppercuts and hooks, rocking him several times.  After the fight, another mini-warrior, Rosendo Alvarez, entered the ring and slapped Arce, caused Arce to hit him back, boxing gloves still on.  These two have had words with each other before and it is rumored they might fight on the Floyd Mayweather-Zab Judah undercard on April 8.  Arce still has a lot of options from 108 to 115 with fighters like Brian Viloria, Alvarez, Pongsaklek Wonjongkam, Fernando Montiel and Martin Castillo.  Arce successfully defended his interim WBC flyweight belt, improving to 43-3-1 with 33 KOs while Rivas falls to 21-9-2 with 10 KOs. source: TV Azteca
