Arce bombs out Hussein

Jorge Arce (Boxingtalk's #3 flyweight) defeated Hussein Hussein by technical knockout in a rematch of their ten-round war earlier this year.  This time, Hussein was stopped eight rounds earlier than the first meeting. He never got off any meaningful punches and Arce dominated from the beginning, stalking Hussein and putting him down in the first round with a beautiful over hand right.  Arce continued to stalk him in round two, eventiually opening up on Hussein against the ropes and putting him down again with a devastating right hand-left hook combination.  After the second knockdown, Hussein's corner threw in the towel to the surprise of everyone.  Arce, who holds the WBC interim belt at 112 pounds, improves to 41-3-1, 31 KOs while Hussein falls to 28-3, 21 KOs.  After a stellar 2005 that included the two wins over Hussein plus an early stoppage of Angel Priolo, hopefully Arce will get some big fights soon.  Candidates for a superbout include Boxingtalk's #1 flyweight, Pongsaklek Wonjongkam, Boxingtalk's top two 115-pounders, Martin Castillo and Fernando Montiel or Boxingtalk's #3 108-pounder, Brian Viloria who spent most of his career at 112. source: Showtime PPV
