Promoter Joe DeGuardia contacted Boxingtalk.com earlier today to inform us that the crown jewel of his stable, light heavyweight king Antonio Tarver, has nabbed an HBO date. According to DeGuardia, Tarver will fight on HBO on January 22 if something can't be worked out for the still available December 18 date. "In the past couple of weeks we've been discussing deals with HBO and we now have an HBO date," said the Bronx based promoter, whose company Star Boxing will in fact promote Antonio Tarver. DeGuardia also said Tarver would either make the mandatory defense of his title against Paul Briggs or unify light heavyweight belts with Glen Johnson.
