Junior lightweight Andres “Savage” Cortes suffered a training injury and has withdrawn from his ESPN-televised co-feature against fellow unbeaten Charly Suarez underneath the Jaime Munguia-Erik Bazinyan main event on Friday, Sept. 20th at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona. Suarez (17-0, 9 KOs), from the Philippines, will now face Jorge Castaneda (17-3, 13 KOs) of Texas in a ten rounder on the ESPN+ streamed undercard. The new ESPN co-feature will be the eight-round heavyweight showdown between Olympic silver medal standout Richard Torrez Jr. (10-0, 10 KOs) and Philadelphia-born Joey Dawejko (28-11-4, 16 KOs). In the eight-round televised opener, junior welterweight Emiliano Fernando Vargas (11-0, 9 KOs) steps up in class against Ireland's Larry Fryers (13-6-1, 5 KOs).
Suarez-Castaneda headlines an undercard that also features the following bouts:
Alan Garcia (14-0, 11 KOs) vs. TBA, eight rounds, lightweights;
DJ Zamora (13-0, 9 KOs) vs. Gerardo Antonio Perez (12-5-1, 3 KOs), eight rounds, junior lightweights;
Steven Navarro (3-0, 2 KOs) vs. Oscar Arroyo (3-2, 2 KOs), six rounds, super flyweights;
Jorge Garcia Perez (30-4, 25 KOs) vs. Ilias Essaoudi (22-2, 15 KOs), ten rounds, junior middleweights;
Art Barrera Jr. (6-0, 4 KOs) vs. Frank Brown (3-6-2, 1 KO), six rounds, welterweights; and
Sebastian Hernandez (16-0, 15 KOs) vs. Yonfrez Parejo (24-6-1, 12 KOs), eight rounds, junior featherweights.
