In Tampa, Florida on Saturday, world featherweight champion Amanda Serrano moved up to junior welterweight and easily stopped Stevie Morgan with a barrage of punches in round two. Morgan was steady on her feet as she absorbed the punches, so perhaps the stoppage was premature. Serrano is now to 47-2-1 with 31 KOs. She used this fight as a tune-up for a rematch vs. world 140-pound champion Katie Taylor, hence Serrano's three-division weight jump. Taylor defeated Serrano in a close fight in 2022 but has won five straight since. Morgan (14-2) was fighting in her hometown. Afterwards, Serrano tweeted, "Hey guys thank you for the support I love you all. To my opponent Stevie Morgan keep your head up champ. You’re a fearless warrior. You make us women look good. There [are] no weak women in boxing, we fight with heart."
