GL: The last time we had you on Boxingtalk we were talking about a potential fight with Peter Manfredo. What's the latest with that? "The latest with that is he doesn't want to fight. I said on TV that I was waiting for my contract, but they know he can't beat me. Maybe he had a change of plans and change of heart, but I can't fight until October because the Monday after my last fight I had major surgery that will keep me out till October."

GL: What kind of surgery?

Alan Green: "My colon was paralyzed for the days leading up to that fight and I was clinically probably dead before that fight. I had to get 75-80% of my colon removed. I wanted to get it done as soon as possible so I can heal up."

GL: Who are you looking at for your October return?

AG: "I was looking at Manfredo, but I'm looking to fight anybody. I'm ready to get back in there. I hear that little guy Pascal from Canada wants to fight me. Him and Bute, they make no difference to me I'll whip both their asses. Kingsley is a good fighter, but he's been off for 20 months and you beat him on two weeks notice."

GL: Do you want another shot at Miranda since he's made it clear he's coming up to super middleweight?

AG: "Oh yeah that's the fight I want more than anything. I want it real bad and it's personal. I wasn't ready for the last fight for medical reasons, but this time I will be at 100% and you would see a totally different fight."

GL: What do you think you have to do for the public to demand that rematch?

AG: "I just had an impressive knockout over Woods in my last fight. I think knocking Manfredo out would have done that, but who else is out there? I need to fight a name guy. I'm tired of fighting prospects. I've done that and I'm passed that. That's like giving a guy a shot. I'm ready to move on to bigger and better things. Little kids wanting to fight me, go fuck yourself I'm looking for big things."

GL: Is there anything you'd like to say in closing?

AG: " I'll have one of those straps around my waist in 2008, whether it's from Calzaghe, Kessler or Berrios. I'll have a strap around my waist."
